Have You Enlisted?

I wrote this on Veterans Day but didn’t post it, although my husband, Michael Pink, read it and encouraged me to share it then.  I just sometimes feel like a broken record complaining about the awful condition our country is in and the lack of involvement by Christians, especially leaders. However, if this encourages someone who feels the same way I do, then it’s worth something. May God bless our America once again., because of His great mercy and for His glory.

A friend of mine recently said, “I see that you’ve become political.” Yes, I know it shows in my public social media posts.                               Well, here’s why.

In December, 1973, I was gloriously born again in a little Baptist church and water baptized that same day. A few years later, alone in my bedroom, I was baptized in the Holy Spirit, as in Acts Chapter 2. I’ve been down many roads and experienced a lot of life, but since coming to know Jesus, my heart has always been devoted to Him. Being born again is a supernatural experience, not just a mental acceptance.

What does that have to do with politics?

This. I was blessed to be born in America, the greatest nation that God has ever raised up. Our freedom and the way of life that is ours is precious and must be guarded and protected. Men and women over all our history have given their lives for what we have enjoyed.

As America has more and more grown cold toward The Lord God Almighty, and Jesus Christ, His Son, we have more and more suffered for it. Those who have no clue about righteousness, scream out for their “freedom” from His love and guidance, and get their way, and our country becomes bound by their ignorance.

“So I will go and speak to their leaders. Surely they know the ways of the LORD and understand God’s laws.” But the leaders, too, as one man, had thrown off God’s yoke and broken his chains.” Jeremiah 5:5

Why has this happened? In my opinion, it is because the Christians, both in the pulpit and in the pew, have complained about it, but haven’t been willing to become engaged in the fight for the soul of America. How many, so called Christians, just didn’t show up at the polls in the last 2 elections, because their favorite candidate wasn’t the nominee, or because the nominee wasn’t a part time preacher? Maybe they didn’t want to “vote against their conscience.” Well,  I understand that. But, if we aren’t careful, it will be more than your conscience that is violated.

The days of complacency are over, if we want to have any residue of what our God given America once was. You have chosen, by now, whether you will suit up or not.  As for me, I cannot but speak.

I think that history will show who spoke up, who was willing to get their hands dirty to fight to save this nation. I have often thought about how Christians are happy to have the rough and ready, United States Marines, the Fighting Army and all other armed forces, to give their lives for us, but preachers aren’t willing to have the courage to speak up against the sins of our nation.

Just go and read about the complacency of the church in Nazi Germany. What will be said of you, man or woman of God?

Where are the prophets who should be calling out the President, by name, and other leaders for their unrighteous deeds? Where is the one who went to David and confronted him about his sin?

No, the prophets are just caught up in giving some vague “word” to someone in the church, which has no power, means nothing, and doesn’t come to pass. I wish that some so called “deep” ministers would come up from the deep and go out and show the world what a strong fighting man looks like!

People are saying, we need a political leader. It’s leadership that is lacking. Well, isn’t it interesting that at the same time we are lacking leadership in the White House, we are lacking the same in  the church? There are a few that I have seen, and thank God for them, but in comparison to the enormity of the problems that we are experiencing, the few are way too few. Is this a spiritual manifestation? BECAUSE it is lacking in the church, it is lacking in our nation?

Will God help us?

My husband often jokingly uses this expression, “You know what the bible says”, and then he’ll say something the bible doesn’t say. In this case, it would be “God helps those who help themselves”.  The bible doesn’t say that, of course. But, guess what? It says, ” I have given you the Promised land.” BUT, they had to go in and kill the giants and take it! I listened today to one minister, Mario Marillo, who is saying the same things I am saying. Check out his posts at Mario Murillo Ministries.

So, on this Veterans Day 2015,  I thank God for those men and women who have the courage to go in and take the land. Those who will actually do what has to be done to defend freedom and the right to worship the True and Living God.

Praise the Lord, who is my rock.
He trains my hands for war
and gives my fingers skill for battle.
He is my loving ally and my fortress,
my tower of safety, my rescuer.
He is my shield, and I take refuge in him.
He makes the nations submit to me. Psalm 144:1-2

Wouldn’t it be awesome, if, after all their sacrifice, those who enjoy the freedoms our brave soldiers have purchased and defended, would lift a finger to maintain the ground that was gained?

  1. Judy…as I read this I heard the following scripture: Isa 58:1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

It is who you are…and never back down nor be ashamed, for like Moses, you will never be able to completely hide from such an assignment.

Ezekiel and Jeremiah did not have any known converts or true followers in their day…but out of their fight and tenacity; their allegiance to the word of God, people like you were birthed. You are making a dent whether you see it or not. Just keep doing what God is telling you to do. He knows what He is doing…and what He is doing in you. It can be a lonely walk, but it is a sure one. God never moved others by crowds…He always just used a few…and nations were turned around. Look at Deborah and Jael…just the two women…and the scriptures says that when they did what they did, there was peace in Israel for forty years.

I do not just tell you these things to make you feel good…I tell you because I know them to be true.

And, by the way, you picked a perfect time to publish this article. It may have gotten overlooked during Veteran’s day and the abundance of posts through social media. It definitely caught my attention today.

Be blessed…and be at peace. I am watching God bypass an entire generation (as He is well famous for doing) for a generation that will take Him at His word. He needs the “Joshua’s” who will train them to enter and partake of the promised land. David went to battle while his brothers, the army and king of that army cowered behind him….

    1. Joanne, I sometimes forget to check my messages on my website. : ) Thank you so much for your encouragement! It inspires me to keep on keeping on. We are certainly at a most strategic time in history. Warriors like you have plowed the ground and sowed the seed for true revival and for the healing of our land. I thank God for you. May I be faithful to His calling and continue to grow in His purpose. Love you, my friend.

  2. Fantastic Judy! Keep letting your voice be heard so others may be challenged to make a difference this time round. I know it’s not a political solution we need, but that doesn’t mean we abandon ship. Let’s work together to see righteousness established strong in our country once again!
