By the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, But by the mouth of the wicked it is torn down. Proverbs 11:11

Father, I speak a blessing over the United States of America.

I bless this nation with a hunger and a thirst for righteousness. I pray that Americans who love this nation and value the freedom and the blessings that You, oh Lord God, have so richly bestowed on us, would rise up and speak up and take back what the enemy has stolen. I bless this nation with a heart of repentance, a longing to return to the ancient paths of Your wisdom, a desire to breathe the fresh, clean air of Your holiness.

I pray that You would so pour out of Your Spirit on the people of this land that they would begin to desire Your word. They will say to themselves, “I want to read the bible. I am tired of ungodliness, tired of lust, tired of violence. I am weary of living life with no eternal purpose. I want to know Truth, I want to know God. I will not allow my country to be destroyed from within by the forces of evil.”

They will say, “I volunteer freely and raise my hand to You, Lord, to fight against the enemy of the soul of our nation, to be Your instrument of prayer. I will get on my knees every day and pray for this nation and believe that nothing is too hard for You, our miraculous God.”

But, Father, may we all be aware that faith without works is dead. Everyone who wants to see this change must be ready to stand strong for what they know is right. They must speak with boldness and go into every sphere of life with confidence. When injustice presents itself, I pray that we will unify, rally together and cry out for justice.

Lord, give America a new heart and put a new spirit within her. Remove her stony heart , and give her a heart of flesh. Put Your Spirit in us and move us to follow Your decrees and keep Your law.

Give us leaders after Your own heart that will lead us with knowledge and understanding, with great strength, but with great humility.

Father, I pray this not for our sakes, but for the sake of Your holy name which we have profaned among the nations.

Forgive us, oh Lord, and revive us once again.

  1. Judy, this is powerful! I will be doing a Prayer Clinic in Indiana in July and would like to use this if you do not mind. The power of declaring the will of God must be understood…and put into action. Thank you!

    1. Thanks so much, Joanne. Please do feel free to use it at your prayer clinic. I feel that the Lord is speaking more to me about trying to rally people to pray for our nation. I hope to write more as He leads. May He breathe upon all at that prayer clinic! Many blessings to you, my friend.

      1. Hi Judy…wanted to give you an update. I used your prayer in the prayer clinic, copied it and passed it out. One of the young ministers took the prayer, made lots of copies and took it into the government buildings downtown, literally putting it into the hands of many political people. She had a tremendous testimony as she shared how she did it as well as actually having an audience to talk to the different people. Thanks, again, for your fortitude in this area. We had an exciting time.

        1. Joanne, that is awesome and such a blessing to hear how the Lord is using this prayer! Thanks so much for passing it on, and thanks to the young minister who took it into the political arena. You’ve really blessed my day, my friend! May the Lord be praised!

  2. Judy this is a great inspirational prayer for nations not only for America but all nations . Would you be pleased to allow Churches in Nigeria use it also especially during these trying times in Nigeria?

  3. As you well know my love, I esteem the gift of God in you. I am like an old rubber hose through which the Spirit of God pours Himself through and as such, the water has that distinct garden hose flavor.

You on the other hand, are the fine crystal out of which is poured the fresh living water of the Spirit. It bears no taste of the vessel and unlike the hose which is put up in the shed until next time, the fine crystal that is you, is a beauty to behold at all times.
